En traducción significa “Bendecido” en la practica, significa la prueba mas real de que todo es posible! Veo a un hombre que con sus raíces Afro-Americanas, su niñez sin padres y sus tan cuestionados nombres se decidido a educarse desarrollando un intelecto poco común, que le sirvió de apoyo a su disciplina y determinación de perseguir un sueño, un loco y elevado sueño, que anoche vimos volverse realidad.



Sin embargo, al cumplir su propio sueño, cumplió también el de muchos de nosotros Americanos soñadores que queremos tan solo tocar con las puntas de nuestros dedos la cima de nuestros anhelos… El demostró al mundo que SI SE PUEDE y que este gran País bendecido por Dios y fundado bajo los principios mas puros de la justicia y de la igualdad para todos aun esta latente y vibrante…Barack Obama es la respuesta para los mediocres, para los racistas, para los que se rindieron a mitad de camino, es la respuesta para los que dentro y fuera de este País, nos miran y se miran a si mismos con dudas, con inseguridad y con recelo…



Me place ver que tenemos en este Hombre fuerte no la respuesta a nuestros problemas, ni la formula mágica que traerá el milagro, pero si la figura principal de un movimiento hacia el progreso, que con inteligencia, sentido común, humildad y firmeza nos dará su liderazgo para los cambios de conciencia que nosotros mismos debemos tomar como ciudadanos. Me place ver que mi hijo crecerá en un País donde las guerras no sean necesarias, donde la mejor educación y sanidad no serán mas un privilegio para los pudientes sino un derecho para todos, un País donde ya las voces que decían “no puedo por que soy latino” o “no me dejan porque mi piel es negra” se tendrán que silenciar a partir de ahora, pues vivimos en una tierra de luchadores y de ganadores que respetan a sus hermanos Americanos sin importar partidos políticos, religiones, origen etc. Solo seremos diferentes en la medida de nuestra propia tenacidad y persistencia individual de alcanzar nuestro objetivo.



Es entonces Barack Obama el símbolo del logro, y el ejemplo humano de no solo la capacidad que tenemos como seres humanos sino la capacidad de una nación que no se rinde ante la crisis y ante el acoso mundial, una nación que aunque sufrida por una guerra sin propósito real, huracanes, incendios, bancarrota, desempleo y mucho mas, salio masivamente a decir, “queremos un cambio y creemos que Obama nos guiara en esa dirección” es Barack Obama nuestro nuevo líder que pasara a la historia no solo porque ya logro, sino por lo que hará con este nuevo voto de poder y confianza que le brindo su pueblo, del que somos parte todos nosotros.



Aplaudo y agradezco a mis padres por traerme a vivir desde niña a un País que al igual que mi tierra natal Colombia, defiende la democracia y todo lo que esto representanta, sin embargo es aquí en donde los premios de nuestro esfuerzo se pueden vivir y disfrutar abiertamente, sin temores, sin perjuicios.



Que Viva Norte América, su nuevo líder y todos nosotros los latinos que estamos moldeando esta nación para nuestras próximas generaciones!
