A Spanish-language television actor was arrested Friday for having child pornography, Miami Beach police said.

Adonis Losada, 45, is a regular on the popular Univisión network show Sabado Gigante, where he dresses as an older woman in the role of Doña ****.

He was charged with 18 counts of possession of child pornography after detectives in Boynton Beach learned of the alleged illegal activity over the Internet.

Losada sent a picture of child pornography to a social networking site, according to a Miami Beach arrest affidavit.

Officers searching his apartment home found 18 images of child pornography on a hard drive, the report said. One of the images was the picture that had been sent on the site.

Univision issued a statement on the case Monday afternoon: ''We have been alerted to the situation. At this time we have placed him under suspension pending the outcome of the law enforcement investigation.''
