The Border Hopper movement started about a year and a half ago, in a city called "Marietta" located northwest of the City of Atlanta. It wasn't their intension to name the group "Border Hoppers", but the name just kind of stuck with them after naming their first and second albums "Border Hoppers Volume 1 and Volume 2". It started off has just a fun thing to do after school and after work, but as time went by they started getting good responses from family and friends. After Vol. 2 is when the group decided to take it a little more serious. The Group consists of three members, "A-town" (21), "Mil Risas" (21) and "G.H." (18). They really hit the streets hard with their 3rd album "Border Hoppers Vol.3" which had many hits. People would always give them Positive Feedback on their album and the movement they had going on. A reason for that is Border Hoppers have a unique style, something different that people like. They have a style that everybody can relate to, not just Hispanics but other races as well. A style with down south beat to it, with that Spanish Flavor as well. They have the English rapper (G.H.), the Spanish rapper (A-Town), and the spanglish (combination of English and Spanish) rapper (Mil Risas). That's one of the reasons that make them apart from many different Hispanic rappers in the music industry. After "Border Hoppers Vol.3" was out, they started getting offers to perform at clubs and car shows and sometimes even private parties. Features on other artist's tracks have also helped Border Hoppers to get recognition and to get noticed outside of Georgia. The First video they shot was " Pesos In My Piggy Bank" a basic video they won at a competition, after winning first place against seven other groups. "Border Hoppers" were the only Hispanics in that competition. Growing up G.H. always like to make people laugh. He liked the feeling of being the center of attention. At school G.H. would freestyle funny rhymes and go around the classroom and talk about everyone. He did that middle school all the way through high school. G.H. never did anything with his talent until he started messing around with Risas making beats. Mil Risas has always been a really talented person. He was always doing something artistic. Whether it was drawing, airbrushing, or doing graphic design. Before he knew it he was making beats. Risas and A-Town knew each other since back in middle school. A-town moved into Risas's neighborhood and that's when they started hanging out. Atown and Risas started freestyling to beats that they had downloaded, but didn't have a place to record their freestyles. A-town has always been a huge fan of music, But got really into when hooked up with Risas. He had bought some Studio equipment and started recording songs with Risas. One of Mil Risas brother's best friend is G.H. Risas started going to G.H's house to make beats, and got really good at it. Thats when G.H had an idea to make an album and name it Border Hoppers Vol. 1, Risas liked the idea and introduced G.H. to A-town. Everyone clicked right away. Every since then, they have been doing music together. . . In Atown's Garage... What started off as fun and games is now a big part of these 3 young adults life. Border Hoppers Are Doing Big Things, whether it's selling their latest album on MySpace or being featured on other Artist songs. Border Hoppers are a year into the rap game and have no plans on slowing down. Everything they have done throughout this process has been because of hard work and dedication. This group is independent. They're just waiting for the right record company for them to call home. "It's like we get better and better" Mil Risas Comments...
